ARCKIT EDUCATION PROGRAMME

We’re working with Teach Design to develop an Education Progamme

We’re working with Teach Design to develop an Arckit Education Progamme for schools in the UK and US to teach hands-on architecture, design and CAD skills using Arckit models.

It’s been a long time coming and we are delighted to announce that we are now planning a 10 week Arckit Education Programme to teach fundamental architecture, design and STEM skills in UK and US schools using our award-winning freeform architectural model system, Arckit.

Teach Design is a non-for-profit initiative formed by a highly experienced panel of Design & Technology and Engineering teachers in The UK who are committed to improving and modernising Design, Technology and Engineering education. Together, we’ve created an introductory programme to inspire budding young architects.

The course will consist of around 10 hours of teaching, covering essential areas such as introducing students to Arckit and architecture, how to design a house and school, drawing & planning, model building, CAD design, creating a design brief, and putting their skills into practice to make a finished model of their design using Arckit.

The set up will be completely interactive for both students and teachers, switching between Arckit Digital components and the physical models. All classes will be available to students at different levels and designed to encourage discussion and teaching around the subject of architectural design, ethical design and social needs.

Our Arckit Education Programme is coming soon. If you are a teacher or school and you would like to register your interest, please email info@arckit.com

Find out more at the USA Science Festival

This week we’re heading to the USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington DC. It’s the largest and only national science festival, where some of the biggest names in STEM meet to celebrate all things science. We’ll be there demonstrating how schools and universities around the world are using Arckit to teach STEM skills.

Arckit is a great way to introduce kids to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) early on, teaching them to feel comfortable with hands-on design and spontaneous creativity. Our ‘click and connect’ components are really simple to use straight out of the box, so we find that Arckit really appeals to kids and teenagers whether they are naturally drawn to science or not.

The USA Science and Engineering Festival is also a chance for us to introduce our new online Infiniti 3D printed component store on Shapeways (coming soon). This groundbreaking development will open up unlimited possibilities for model makers, allowing users to order bespoke 3D printed components that can be integrated with existing Arckit.

It’s going to be a really fun-packed show with over 350,000 people coming together to hear inspiring stories, see incredible performances, and explore the latest ideas in the world of science and engineering. The show is on at Walter E. Washington Convention Centre on Saturday 16th April – Sunday 17th April with a sneak peak for teachers and students on April 15th. And tickets are FREE!
